When should I start seeing the results of my hard work?
I started working out a week ago. I’m 21 yrs old, 5′5″, and I’ve gained 5 lbs this summer =( I’m 137 now. I know that’s “normal” for me, but I’m not used to weighing that much. None of my clothes fit right anymore. I want to get back to 130-132.
I started doing 20 min of step aerobics plus running 1/2 mile, doing jacknives, torso twists, push ups, and yoga for stretching. I alternate doing arms every other time I work out b/c they’re so sore from being weak… =/ All in all, it’s about an hour or so a day.
I’ve also been eating healthier. Life cereal and FF milk for breakfast, unsweetened apple sauce for a mid-morning snack, 1/2 peanut butter sandwich, apple sauce, and pita chips for lunch, and grilled chicken and a side vegetable for dinner. I don’t drink sodas (never have) and I’ve been steering clear of sweets (ice cream, candy, cookies, etc), which have been my 5 lbs downfall (or should I say UP fall…) this summer.
When do you think I’ll start seeing the results?
There is no need to be rude. I did not ask “what your clients eat” or if “what I’m eating is for kids”. Compared to what I did eat, I am eating healthier now. Up till recently I had an amazing metabolism. I could eat 1/2 a freezer pizza and ice cream and not gain a pound. I wasn’t working out at all. And staying inside to avoid the heat. That must be why I finally gained.
The cereal I’m eating has 3 g of protein per serving and 2 grams of fiber. Not the best, but I’m on a tight budget. I can’t afford Kashi or Fiber One cereal. And I certainly can’t afford eggs and turkey every morning. And I don’t know where you went to school, but grilled chicken and vegetables like baked beans or chickpeas or green beans have TONS of protein, fiber, and vitamins. So don’t tell me that that isn’t a healthy meal.
The low carb crap is a joke. Too many people (like my dad) have spent years on the atkins diet only to end up having heart attacks and/or clogged artereries.
Be nice or don’t answer!
Oh, and pita chips are not bad for you at all either. They’re a healthy alternative to potato chips. So yes, compared to what I was eating, I am eating healthier. ***.
