get an at home video. most of the time you want to be undestracted and so on. if you take a class yuo’ll end up looking around at everyone els and not meditating. once you get comfortable in your own home undistracted then you can move on into a class. dont worrie about a mat or anything. just do it infront of your tv. have fun

go to your library and get some beginner books on the subject…..they even have relaxation tapes u can borrow….

What Causes Bad Breath
It sounds like you have allot going on so a yoga class wouldn’t work as well for you. I would start with a beginners yoga kit from say Target or Walmart. They come with a mat, strap, brick, and video. I got mine from Target for $35 and I love it. Read the back of the DVD or VHS you are looking at though because some DVD’s are for exercise while others are for relaxation, both of which are great. Happy Yogaing!

I took yoga years ago and never kept it up…but I learned one really simple position that is guaranteed to relax you. Lie on your back, arms and legs fairly wide apart, with PALMS UP. Most people don’t lie that way very often…they curl up or lie on their stomachs. This position will help you breathe properly, which is one of the basic principles of yoga. The farther apart your legs and arms are, the more relaxed you will be.

First off, Yoga is not just a thing you randomly decide to “pick up”..it takes a lot of commitment ..and time. Not to mention…you also have to maintain a diet, in order to get all the functions and benefits that yoga provides. The first step, to answer your question, would to be to go to a local yoga studio, and get info on what they do. There are different types of yoga and you have to pick what one is right for you.

There are some great beginners DVDs out there. I started with Yoga for Dummies. If you are into yoga but want to try something just a little different, try pilates. I have had wonderful success combining these two with my treadmill workouts. (it would work even better if someone would put a lock on the fridge! Ha Ha!) Good luck!

I have two videos that I found helpful as a beginner. Lilias Folan had a PBS series for many years and you can get her tapes or dvds at Amazon.com. My favorite beginner tape is Lilais Yoga Basics.
I also found a dvd at Target that is good, the morning program is easiest. Gaiam AM and PM Yoga. You will need a yoga mat, blanket and strap for this one. The Lilias program does not use any props, so it is a bit easier.
I found that practicing Yoga daily or every other day made it alot easier to deal with the stress while my son was in Iraq. I tried taking classes, but they were never available during the times I needed. I live in a small rural town, so finding many options for classes is very difficult.
It does help to occasionally have someone check that you are doing the positions correctly, so a class is good in that respect. Maybe after you try on your own, you can attend some classes, if you have the time, or vice versa.

Go for morning walks and do some deep breathing exercises.A specific deep breathing exercise known as Pranayama in yoga is great for relaxation.Any elementary book on breathing exercises will tell you about ‘Pranayama’ or you may get information on the net too.As for morning walks, i believe these are more relaxing and healthy than the streching exercises mentioned in yoga.
